Blaming and shaming in the shadow structure: individual resistance towards gender equality work as expressions of social conflict

This article explores individual resistance related to a military organization’s gender equality work as expressed in online contexts. Resistance is explained expressions of wider social conflicts, grounded experiences threats towards masculinities, challenged by societal and political transformation processes perceived feminine. The data consists defence-related blogs comments. A thematic analysis finds that can be understood blaming shaming strategies. Five sub-themes are identified: the “feminised” organization, women’s abilities serve, individualisation structural problems, verbal violence violations, objectification men working with supporting initiatives. exemplifies how conflict transferred organizations through resistance.
